Web Developer

Datatrac Corporation is developing new applications for the expedited delivery industry. The back end systems will run on Linux and use Node.js. The front end applications will use React. The database will be MongoDB.

We are looking for a web developer to join our team. This position requires experience developing enterprise software using web front end and server technologies. The individual should be a self-starter and will help continue building on these highly functional business applications in an exciting environment with opportunities to work with state of the art tools. Applicant should be comfortable working at a small company and on a small team. There will be ample opportunity for creativity and to make a difference.

This is a full-time direct hire position, but will also consider contract-to-perm. We would like the candidate to live locally in the Atlanta area and be able to work from our office in Alpharetta. There will be some opportunity to work from home as projects dictate.

  1. Javascript / HTML 5 / CSS
  2. Node.js Web UI & REST API development
  3. A single page application framework (esp. React)
  4. Strong Linux / Unix experience (including strong at the command line)
  5. Experience with some other modern dynamic language (Python , Ruby , etc…)
  6. Superior verbal and written communication skills

Senior Classic Technology Developer

Datatrac Corporation has a 40-year history of deploying products for the full order/pickup/delivery lifecycle starting with terminal UIs, progressing through desktop applications and two-way radios/numeric pagers, and now state of the art HTML5 apps and Android/IOS smartphone apps. These applications serve the entire line of business for our customers in the logistics and final mile delivery space and provide the primary interface for their customers.

This position is for a senior “Classic” Technology developer and requires strong design and programming skills. We are looking for a talented self-starter to help continue to build these highly functional business applications. Because of our long history, we have a large legacy code base that continues to support our existing customer base. We need a senior-level resource to join our team and focus on maintaining and developing in this legacy environment. They will also work with the existing senior-level resource to make high-level decisions and mentor others. A successful candidate will be able to participate in all phases of the project, from understanding the business problem and defining requirements to coding the solutions and resolving defects.

  1. Strong experience in a “classic” procedural language like COBOL, DIBOL, DBL, Fortran, etc.
